The City's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a preparedness document that provides the City and community with a response and operational framework for responding to large-scale emergencies and disasters.

PLAN OVERVIEW

The Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a preparedness document and is designed to be read, understood, and exercised prior to an emergency. The EOP has been developed in accordance with the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

The plan does not address ordinary day-to-day emergencies or the established routine procedures used to cope with such incidents. Rather, it concentrates on operational concepts and response procedures relative to large-scale emergencies and disasters.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Whole community input is critically important before, during, and after a disaster. Whole community input in the planning phase is particularly important so officials hear, first-hand, the needs of our residents and how best to serve them during times of disaster. This feedback also allows officials to connect with all communities to offer training or other services to help residents prepare before disaster strikes!

Whole community is a broad but inclusive term designed to fully represent all persons including but not limited to: People of color or other historically marginalized or underserved individuals or communities, persons who are non-English speaking, those who require the aid of medical assistive devices, people who may be transportation or housing dependent, persons with disabilities and their legally recognized service animals, persons regardless of immigration status, residents, businesses, and visitors.  Inclusion of all remains a priority for the City with the highest interest of protecting life, property, and the environment.
