City's Storm Drain Improvement Project Wins AwardThe City of Moreno Valley has received a Project of the Year Award for its Storm Drain Improvement Project from the southern California chapter of the American Public Works Association. The project is located in the community of Edgemont in southwest Moreno Valley, in the area bounded by Alessandro Boulevard, Cottonwood Avenue, Day Street and Elsworth Street. Construction of the storm drain line resolved prevalent and chronic flooding and drainage problems and upgraded some of the streets. "This is very exciting news," said Public Works Director and City Engineer Trent Pulliam. "The City has a very talented and skilled public works staff and their efforts on this project were outstanding. They truly deserve the recognition." The project involved the installation of approximately 3,500 feet of 66-inch, 48-inch and 42-inch reinforced concrete storm drainpipes, 1,300 feet of 8-inch PVC water pipeline and the relocation of approximately 300 feet of 4-inch gas lines. The award will be presented at the chapter's luncheon on December 14 in the City of Lakewood. |
